Nick has had a passion for the water his entire life. This passion led to an early career in the United States Navy's Submarine Service where he spent 4 years as a submarine navigator. Nick took the knowledge, skills and abilities he learned in the Navy into the fire service where he currently works as a Captain for the Alameda County Fire Department. During his time in the Fire Service, Nick has been heavily involved in the Maritime environment, working as the departments water rescue program manager. Nick has been the Co-Chair to the SAR (Search and Rescue) Council for the United States Coast Guard for the past 7 years. During this time, he was a member of the cadre curriculum development team for State Fire Training in developing the courses for Open Water Rescue Boat Operator (Large and Small) and served as the Maritime Branch Director for 5 years during Urban Shields multi-agency preparedness operations. Nick continues his work in the Maritime community with over 500 hours of instructor time in both cognitive and practical application. Nick is a registered instructor in good standing with State Fire Training. Fire Service 2009 - Present
